As part of an all-new site series, ‘Chapman Updates’ aims to deliver a behind the scenes look at what is happening at one of Australia’s most successful marine dealerships, as we check in with industry stalwart Mark Chapman.
December is a very busy time for the marine industry and Chapman Marine is no different. With a high quantity of orders on various quality powerboats for Chapman Marine over the fourth quarter of this year, the New South Wales dealership has experienced unprecedented success with one brand in particular: Sea Ray.
Known industry wide for their exceptional build quality, meticulous craftsmanship and effortless performance, the Sea Ray brand has consistently grown in popularity globally since its inception. With the recently released Euro version of SPX 230 outboard nominated for European Powerboat of the Year 2022, it is no surprise that Sea Ray’s range of vessels have proven to be a particularly popular option with Australian powerboaters.
“Currently, we have over 35 boats on order or presold with 17 boats to deliver between now and the end of January,” said Mark who is particularly impressed with Sea Ray’s ability to deliver on time.
2021 has been a turbulent year for many in the marine industry, with almost all business and brands around the industry struggling with global supply chain and logistical issues. Sea Ray however have worked tirelessly to deliver their quality product on time to their new Australian owners throughout this tumultuous period.
“It is impressive to see a brand back their customers all the way,” said Mark, “and we are grateful for their timely delivery to us. It is certainly great news for our customers who are looking to get out on the water over the summer period.”
One of the more popular Sea Ray models for Chapman Marine has been the SDX 250 Outboard, a versatile Bowrider that reflects Sea Ray’s commitment to intelligent engineering. With an open layout that encourages socialisation and relaxation, and an impressive seating capacity onboard, the SDX 250 Outboard is an excellent option for effortless family boating. The 250 is equipped with the latest in technology to ensure ease of use and the addition of Mercury outboard power adds freedom and flexibility to suit a variety of environments.
The SPX Sport Series has also been a hit with Australian powerboaters at Chapman Marine, in both the sterndrive and outboard variations. This range of adventurous runabouts from Sea Ray aims to deliver the ultimate in style, performance, and fun. The SPX range is sporty, comfortable and features flexible customisation options to suit the needs of any boater.
The highly anticipated Euro version of the Sea Ray 230 SPX is set to arrive at Chapman Marine within the coming weeks, this particular vessel currently being manufactured in Sea Ray’s European factory in Poland. The 230 SPX has more recently been nominated for European Powerboat of the Year 2022 in the ‘Up to 8 Meter’ category and is already turning heads industry wide. “It looks to be an amazing boat and we are extremely excited for it to arrive,” said Mark.
Sleek and athletic in appearance, the SPX 230 Outboard combines power and agility for a thrilling on-water experience, an experience which would certainly shine this summer in Australia. In addition, the SPX 230 Outboard is kitted with an intuitive helm design that is equipped with all the latest and greatest technology, making captaining both easy and intelligent.
An altogether busy period then for Chapman Marine as summer gets into full swing for all boating and powerboating enthusiasts Australia wide. With a wide variety across the range and an impeccable record thus far in terms of delivery, it is no surprise that Sea Ray’s smart and reliable vessels are amongst the most popular for Mark and his team at Chapman Marine.
